Cross-Platform Play
Team up with friends across consoles and PC! Create a multiplatform alliance and battle together with the new cross-platform play free game update to Minecraft Dungeons, available now. This update allows for cross-platform multiplayer across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®, Windows, and Xbox.
Please make sure that your game is updated to version 1.6.0.0 or later before playing multiplayer. See the article on How to Update Minecraft Dungeons to ensure you are fully up-to-date.
Nintendo Switch accounts and PlayStation® accounts must be linked to a Microsoft account. Please see our article on linking accounts and multiplayer subscription requirements for more details.
Cross-platform multiplayer on PlayStation® can be enabled or disabled within Game Settings > Configure Online Play. On other platforms, cross-platform multiplayer is always enabled.
Cloud Saves
Coming soon, cloud saving will come to Minecraft Dungeons, allowing save files to be backed up and synchronized between different platforms. While we do not have a date to announce at this time, the team is hard at work on this feature and it will be coming in a future update.
For now, save files can be backed up individually on each platform. See our article on Backing Up Save Files for more information.
Online Play
Minecraft Dungeons can be played online with 2 - 4 players. The game’s difficulty will change based on how many players are within the game, scaling to be more difficult the more friends that join. You can also start an online game by yourself and have others join your quest for glory while your game is in progress.
