Firstly, we promise this isn't us being difficult. There are very strict regulations that require us to collect a bank statement from you if we can't verify you through our automated process.

We really don't need to see your account balances or transactions, so if you don't want to share them, you can crop out everything but:

Your name, address and bank account number
Your bank's name and logo
The statement date

From your desktop or laptop:

Sign in to internet banking - make sure it's your own bank account (not a business or trust account).
Every bank does things slightly differently, but you should be able to find a PDF statement for the bank account you'll deposit money from. If not, get in touch and we'll walk you through it (and update this FAQ).
Open the statement.
Then you've got two options, screenshot or download the statement. It's up to you if you want to crop out your balance and transactions, we don't need to see them.
Upload the screenshot/PDF to Hatch.

From email (on your mobile or desktop):

Find an email from your bank with a statement attached.
Open the statement PDF attachment.
Then you can screenshot or download it (downloading can be a bit trickier on iPhones). It's up to you if you want to crop out your balance and transactions, we don't need to see them.
Upload the screenshot/PDF to Hatch.

From your mobile banking app:

Unfortunately, not all banks offer statements on their mobile banking apps. If not, you can screenshot a bank statement that's been emailed to you, or, as a last resort, you'll have to jump over to a desktop and finish verification.

Open your banking app - make sure you're looking at your own bank account (not a business or trust account).
Find a bank statement and open it - they can be a little hidden (for example, ANZ has them under 'documents').
Take a screenshot. It's up to you if you want to crop out your balance and transactions, we don't need to see them.
Upload the screenshot to Hatch.

From your paper statement:

Take a picture of the statement on your mobile (make sure it includes the required information).
Sign in to Hatch on your mobile and upload the image.
