Mac os x lion full version free download

I am in the same boat. I can not download any old versions for testing as well. I hope that Apple gives us a way to download these older versions.

I know this is from a year ago, but I'd like to get some older versions for testing and the App Store won't allow me to download the purchased versions on my new MBP w/ touchbar because they won't run on that computer. I tried to look through https://developer.apple.com/downloads/ to find these downloads, but I don't see them.

Any tips on what to look for? or how to navigate to the OS downloads?

How old? Some (10.5 as an example) are available at the download link mentioned above [ https://developer.apple.com/downloads/ ], others, more recent, can still be purchased from the Apple Store.

Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

Stil more recent (you can only go from 10.8 to El Capitan as 10.9 is not available alone now):

• If you're using Snow Leopard, check for software updates by choosing Software Update from the Apple menu. After installing all Snow Leopard updates, you'll have the Mac App Store.
• If you're using Leopard, upgrade to Snow Leopard, then use the Mac App Store to upgrade to El Capitan.

For those of us who did not "purchase", how can we get access to the old OS X versions to test apps?

OK, I discovered that if I go into the App Store and dig through my purchaces, I can re-download the OS X 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9 installers, transfer them to another system, and install them there.

(It's lucky I didn't skip a version!)
